Akismet had a DB problem earlier today that caused it to be slower than normal to respond to requests for free users. Because of the way the WP plugin is written (with a very low timeout), this may have allowed spam comments to hit the moderation queue.
Everything should be back to normal now, and please use the contact form if you’re noticing anything out of the ordinary in your Akismet performance. Sorry about that!

I was looking around earlier today for possible updates to Akismet but was unable to find any; are their any for users to watch for?
