You should tell your clients to use Akismet responsible and only to flag real spam comments.

However, I’ve noticed a new strain of spam comment, ones that simply duplicate previous comments and then post them seemingly randomly to other blog posts on my site together with the usual Rx, pr0n, and sh*t links. Any thoughts on how Akismet can cope with such a strategy, will this library help?
